Yak bars and how they can benefit your dog.

Yak bars and how they can benefit your dog.

Yak is the most popular long-lasting treat on the market at the moment and it's not surprising considering how fantastic they are!

The Yak bar is a natural chew made from Himalayan Yak. Made through traditional methods steaming back thousands of years. The yak bar is made using Yak milk or more commonly now cows skimmed milk, a tiny amount of salt and lime. It is then combined to form a cheese which is left to harden and dry over a 28 day period. After this period the cheese is cut into slices and sold. Due to the traditional method of making yak it has a shelf life of around 5 years, so long as its kept in a cool dry place and out of direct sunlight.

The best part about Yak is the NO smell!! There is no odor to Yak at all and that comes as a relief to many of us that feed the natural treats! Yak also does not leave marks on flooring or furniture so is perfect for some indoor chewing fun!

Yak are great for dogs that are lactose intolerant. This is because in the process of making yak the whey and the cream are removed leaving just 1% of lactose in the actual yak bar. They are also Gluten free. There is no grain or gluten in the yak at all making them suitable for all dogs.

Here is our new baby enjoying his yak bar! Our baby is 13 weeks old and is obsessed with these.

Yak bars are great for puppies!! They don't only help with teething but they also help with boredom and a calcium boost! You can give your puppy a yak from 8 weeks of age.

Yak is an overall great naturally processed long lasting chew!

What are you waiting for? give your dog a yak!!
